"Line" is a term commonly used by people connecting to the internet today, with this age of technology breaking through connecting restrictions. In recent years, contemporary Taiwanese artist Hung Yi has also spoken on many occasions internationally through art connections. This time it is making a connection with Spanish national treasure art master, Juan Ripollés, via a bridging dialogue exhibition at the Cultural Heritage Park. Despite originating from different cultural backgrounds, they both share a common vocabulary when it comes to artistic creativity. The artists developed their unique styles over the course of their life experiences, reflected in particular in their simple and streamlined forms and the interplay between rich and strong colors. In fact, their art tastes are connected and coincide. Great minds think alike, so regardless of the framework of national boundaries, they develop and promote positive energy for the whole world. The multi-faceted and rich works in both two and three-dimensional forms will make connections at this large-scale exhibition between the indoor and outdoor spaces of the Park, echoing in the exhibition’s title "Line to (Taiwanese) Spain." Hung Yi will also be the first Chinese artist to hold a solo exhibition at the City of Arts and Sciences in Spain at the end of this year, where there will also be an artistic back and forth exchange and communication off each other. The two artists also are doing much to prepare the way for the next generation, so they invited Huang Po-Wei, a younger, up-and-coming artist from Taiwan, to participate in this exhibition. By doing so, they hope that the energy of Taiwanese art will become more diversified, continue to shine, and make a “line” with the world.
